Welcome to Ankeny Evening Rotary!
We’re so glad you’re here!
Ankeny Evening Rotary is a group of community-minded people who enjoy giving back, building friendships, learning more about our community, and having some fun along the way.
As a new member, you do not need to learn everything about Rotary all at once. Your first few months are really about getting to know people, experiencing different parts of the club, and finding the things that are most meaningful to you.
Come to the meetings that interest you. Join a service project. Attend a social. Ask questions. Sit with someone new. And don’t be afraid to bring your own ideas.
There is no one “right way” to be a Rotarian. We simply hope you’ll find ways to connect, serve, and feel like part of the club.
Your First Few Weeks
A few easy ways to get started:
- Introduce yourself to members you haven’t met yet.
- Sit with someone different at a meeting.
- Join us for a service project.
- Attend a social or fellowship event.
- Connect with your sponsor if you have questions.
- Look through the club calendar and choose activities that interest you.
- Visit a committee meeting if you’re curious. You do not have to join a committee just because you attend.
- Share your ideas. Fresh ideas are always welcome.
Getting Connected
One of the best parts of Ankeny Evening Rotary is the friendships you’ll build along the way.
Our club offers plenty of opportunities to get to know fellow members beyond our Tuesday evening meetings.
Here are a few ways to connect:
- Come a little early. Join us around 5:30 PM before our Tuesday meetings to visit and catch up.
- Join a service project. Working together is one of the easiest ways to build friendships.
- Attend a social event. Enjoy good conversation, laughter, and fellowship.
- Explore a committee. Discover where your interests and talents might fit.
- Get involved beyond our club. Rotary connects people locally, throughout Iowa, and around the world.
Remember, you don’t have to do everything. Find what you enjoy, get involved at your own pace, and make Rotary your own.
